John Ventura
IVL Senior Instructor/PartnerJoel Beard is a graduate from Kent Roosevelt High School. During college, he was a four year letterman, all league middle infield performer and a two year captain for the Mount Union College Purple Raiders. During his time at Mount, Joel set career records for most hits in a career and most stolen bases and was named team MVP for 3 years. After college, Joel has played on the Kent VFW state championship men’s team and with several local championship men’s teams including the Raptors and the Colonels. Joel coached baseball at Kent Roosevelt High School for two years. He then went on to coach several youth teams. Over a four year span, his Jackson Youth Baseball teams amassed a record of 75-9. He currently has been coaching with the Medina Sting program over the last two seasons. Joel resides in Jackson Township with his wife, Sandi. He has two stepsons, David and Aaron along with his two daughters, Hailey and Macy.
